Thanksgiving Feast - Indian Style

Indian people always and forever have recognized our Creator. So much so that we don't just have a Thanksgiving Day Feast during what is considered the final Harvest of the year. We have a FEAST with each Season we celebrate, because each SEASON has it's own harvest when you live off the earth as American Indians have always done.

The Pilgrims were a fortunate people to have come upon the tribe that they did. It's a good thing for us to have a THANKSGIVING DAY but just remember that it wasn't the Pilgrims GREAT harvest that was being celebrated - the Indians not only taught the Europeans how to survive they were sharing their own spirituality of celebrating a Creator that was blessing them with another seasonal harvest.

In our family this is what we do to remember our Creator and Heavenly Father is providing for our livelihood. We celebrate that all aspects of the earth provide that to us, the four legged deer walk on the earth and give us the meat (we serve venison), the fish swim in the water, the fowl fly through the air (turkey), and wild rice grows from the earth. So look at your table and see if you are giving thanks to your CREATOR for all the gifts of life from Mother Earth. It is my wish for each of you to have a wonderful day of Thanks!

These people are all from my family and from my reservation and have spent time teaching me the dealings of my Creator, my family and people.
