It "Hoppened" on the Way to SCHOOL!

Last Weds morning the girls got ready to leave for school, they said goodbye and left. The girls were back in about 10 minutes in our room with a malnourished, very tired looking, cute dutch rex rabbit.................like the black & white one pictured about. We fixed up the pet carrier, got her some food and water..............off to school they went. Before they got home "Blacktop" (she has been dubbed) ate a whole head of lettuce, 2 big carrots and a large handful of spinach (the girls were glad that she liked the spinach because then it wasn't around for Mom to fix for their dinner). Blacktop slept most of the afternoon, the night and has since gained some filling for her fir and she looks beautiful! It looks like she has been on her own most of the winter. Derwin remembers seeing a little black & white rabbit near the road last fall.

Yesterday she was hopping around the room and down the hall, just exploring and all of a sudden she jumps into the air and does a somersault, then in a bit she jumps up on the couch to see what was up there. We haven't checked around yet to see if anyone has "misplaced" a rabbit but we will have to. She obviously is use to being around people. She will come up to you and stand on her hind legs to greet you. CUTE!

Oh man that makes me want a bunny! We had one that looked just like that growing up. "Grommit" was his name and I LOVED him! Glad you guys rescued "Blacktop"!

That is such a soft, warm story. I'm so glad that you took the rabbit in. Amazing what he ate.

I'm happy for Autumn also.
